Jennifer Gaugler

Architectural Historian

Jennifer Gaugler is our architectural historian. In this role, Jennifer has supported the work of a study committee for a new architectural conservation district, serving as a liaison between the Landmarks Commission, the study committee members, and City officials. She has also assisted with the completion of study reports for a variety of pending Landmarks across the city. She enjoys working to protect Boston's historic resources for future generations.

Prior to joining the Boston Landmarks Commission, Jennifer worked in the academic sector as an instructor for classes on architecture history and research methods. Her previous experience also includes architecture and historic preservation work in the United States and Rwanda.

Jennifer holds a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley in architecture history, a Master of Architecture degree from Tulane University, and a Bachelor's degree in architecture from MIT.

In her spare time, she enjoys exploring historic places, hiking, biking, reading, and rowing on the Charles River.
