Planning, Design, and Construction at Boston Parks
Our mission is to provide clean, green, safe, and accessible open space. We want to improve the quality of life for individuals, families, and communities. We strive to advance access, equity, and excellence in public open spaces citywide.
The Design and Construction Unit is responsible for open space planning, park design, and construction. Our project managers implement improvement projects to passive and active open space. These spaces include parks, cemeteries, athletic fields, and more.
Once a project has been identified and funded, project managers work with the community. They identify specific goals through a series of public meetings. They also develop a schematic plan to base the bid documents upon.
