Election

Our department directs all municipal, state, and federal elections within Boston. As part of our work, we also register voters, conduct an annual census, and educate the public on voting.

NEXT ELECTION: Municipal Election, November 2

For the Municipal Election on Tuesday, November 2, the early voting period starts on Saturday, October 23, and runs through Friday, October 29. Before you vote, see what's on the ballot. All registered Boston voters also have the option to vote by mail. Applications to request a vote-by-mail ballot must be received by Wednesday, October 27. You can check your voter status online.
