Renato Castelo

Senior Manager of Strategic Initiatives

In his role as the Senior Manager of Strategic Initiatives, Renato helps build and manage teams of community, business, internal City of Boston staff, and other stakeholders to develop and implement initiatives and policies that meet the needs of our City’s immigrants.

Prior to joining the Mayor’s Office for Immigrant Advancement, Renato worked for nonprofit, government, and private sector institutions promoting the rights and integration of immigrants and refugees. His work has centered on coalition building, civic engagement and education, and leadership development.

Renato holds a Masters in Education Policy and Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He is a native Spanish speaker from Ecuador.
