Ciara Lanman is a multimedia journalist with a background in broadcast journalism, social media and digital productions. She grew up as a military child, providing  her the opportunity to live in many places. She always looked at the northeast as a beacon for home. Ciara always dreamed of living in Boston, close to her sense of home in New Hampshire. As a Jamaica Plain resident for two years, this dream has been actualized.

Ciara graduated from the University of Massachusetts Lowell with a Bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in journalism and professional writing and a minor in digital media. Her work has been published in The Lowell Spin, WGBH, Armstrong State University’s Calliope and the University of Massachusetts Lowell’s The Offering. 

As the Communications Assistant for the Community Engagement Cabinet, she is most excited about serving the City of Boston and providing resources to our residents. She is also excited about growing with the media landscape and discovering new ways to utilize current and future trends to highlight the work of the Mayor’s Community Engagement Cabinet. 

When Ciara is not working at City Hall, you can typically find her in the pit at a concert, hanging out with her cat Riley playing video games or hanging out with her friends and family.
