Mayor Martin J. Walsh today announced the appointment of Jeysaun Gant as the neighborhood liaison for Roxbury and Denise Dos Santos as the liaison for Mid-Dorchester and the Cape Verdean community for the Office of Neighborhood Services (ONS). They will serve as the primary contact for constituents and businesses looking to connect with the Mayor's Office, and will facilitate the delivery of services in collaboration with City departments. Jeysaun started his role in the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services late last month and Denise began this past Monday.

“Jeysaun Gant and Denise Dos Santos are selfless public servants who will reflect the values of the City of Boston and serve as important connectors between our residents and City Hall,” said Mayor Walsh. “Jesyaun and Denise have had a passion for public service from young ages, and I’m confident that they both will bring that dedication to these roles and the Roxbury, Mid-Dorchester and Cape Verdean communities.”

The Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Services (ONS) encourages, facilitates, and maximizes citizen input and participation through service requests, neighborhood meetings, mailings, and emergency responses. To report non-emergency issues to the City, residents are encouraged to connect with BOS:311 by dialing 3-1-1 or by downloading the free BOS:311 app on iOS or Android platforms.

Jeysaun Gant

Jeysaun Gant was born and raised in Boston. He got his start in public service during his sophomore year at the Community Academy of Science and Health as a community organizer for I Have A Future. His work centered around highlighting youth based issues in the community and working to address them. Jeysaun led the State Campaign Youth Team, which worked on increasing the state budget for youth opportunities. In an effort to pay it forward, he also trained various youth and organizations on how to become community organizers.

"I am excited to be the neighborhood liaison to Roxbury,” said Jeysaun. “I will continue to make the issues of the community visible and work with the community and the City to address them.”

Jeysaun is passionate about improving the community and he strives to be vocal about the issues impacting his fellow Bostonians. He enjoys listening to music and going to the gym in his down time. Jeysaun lives in Roxbury.

I hope to inspire folks to stay connected and make our neighborhood thrive."
